capital of the ‘roof of the world’. Lhasa has had a long
history of flourishing trade, consumerism, spirituality,
Buddhism and change. The modern Lhasa is an interesting
and often extreme experience for visitors, and things are
changing very fast.
You will arrive
in Gonggar Airport, and will be met by a local guide. A
Kada (white scarf) will be presented to you as a symbol of
good luck. Drive 60km to Lhasa city and spend some time
adapting to the altitude and climate.

After breakfast you will start the Kailash adventure.
Driver along the beautiful Lhasa river and you will
approach the Yamdrok Tso Lake, on of the four holy lakes
of Tibet. Pass the Chushul bridge and ascend up to the
Kambala pass at 4974m. Photo opportunities of the Yamdrok
Tso Lake depending on weather conditions. Drive on to
Nangartse to have lunch. Later drive to the Karo-La pass
and onto the Nyang-Chu valley, reaching Gyangtse. Enjoy
sightseeing of the Pelkor Monastery, the Kumbum Chorten
andthe ruins of the Daong Fort. After, drive to Shigatse
city. Check into hotel, dine and relax.
is a small town located in the Yarlung Tsang-po river
valley in southern Tibet, right by the ruins of the
beautiful Lhatse Dzong (old fort). There are several old
monasteries in the area.
After breakfast, drive to Tashilhunpo monastery, which is
one of the six great Gelugpa sect monasteries. After
visiting this monastery drive onwards towards Lhatse.
Enjoy a photoshoot at the Tso-La pass and then drive to
Sakya town for lunch. You can visit the wonderful Sakya
monastery, very important in Tibetan history, designed in
a defensive manner with huge watchtowers on the corners of
its walls. Afterwards continue to Lhatse town.
is a strategically located town in the Shigatse prefecture
of Tibet, on the Dargye Tsangpo river banks. Three major
roads run past this town and so it is an important
destination for trade, tourism and military. It is also
the last stop before Mount Kailash, so travellers and
pilgrims usually rest here and stock up for the trek
After having breakfast take the interesting drive towards
Saga. You will cross three
After breakfast drive all the way up to Saga. Along the
way have to cross three high passes, first pass Ngammring-la
(4900ms), next to Ngamring-tso which will be in 60kms from
Lhatse. After cross Ngamring-la pass will arrive SangSang
town ship, this town is 122kms far from Lhatse town where
will have lunch. Second pass will be Che-la pass which is
5280ms. And third pass will be Ko-la pass (4800ms), then
will arrive Saga town (4600ms) stay overnight.
is known as the world’s highest town, at 4,700m above sea
level. It is a peaceful little stop before continuing
towards the holy Mount Kailash.
After breakfast and a rest, drive onwards to the small
town of Paryang. Have lunch in the town of Zhongba on the
way and visit the small Dradhum monastery. Also you will
see the vast golden sand dunes on the eastern side of the
main road, and you will cross Shuguo-La pass to reach the
Paryang area. Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay in Paryang
before journeying onto Kailash.

pilgrims due to its proximity with sacred Mount Kailash
and the holy Lake Manasarovar.

checkpoints on the way. At 5216 metres you will cross the
Mayun-La pass and further on the Gung Gyu-tso lake where
the wildlife will impress you. Finally drive around the
stunning Lake Manasarovar to reach the destination where
you will spend the night in the shadow of the Tibetan’s
most holy mountain. The next day you will spend in the
area acclimatising with the altitude and temperature.
is a small monastery with wonderful views of Mount Kailash.
It is small and basic and located in this high-altitude
and barren environment, thus making it an important stop
for travellers and pilgrims.
The first day’s kora will start today and you will cover
22km, with the destination being the Dira-Puk Monastery at
5200m. Spend the night here.
Zutul-Puk monastery is located at 4790m near the Mount
Enjoy a simple
local breakfast and begin the kora again. You will cross
the highest point in your expedition, Dorlma-La Pass at
5670m, where you can enjoy wonderful views of Mt Kailash
and the glacier and also the Gauri-Kund lake. Stay
overnight in the Zutul-Puk monastery.
After a local
breakfast visit the monastery then continue the kora by
walking to the foot of the great and beautiful Mt. Kailash.
Afterwards, begin the drive back to Paryang, stopping for
lunch at Hor Town.
Arise and take
in the sights and after drive back to Saga.
drive back to the city of Shigatse, stopping in Lhatse for
a rest and some lunch.
Drive back to Lhasa to spend the whole day in the capital
as a nice way to end your tour. Journey back to Lhasa is
approximately 3 hours.
Depending on your departure details, our team will take
